BDL Cares: Five Ways We Are Keeping the Airport Clean and Sanitized
At Bradley International Airport your well-being is our number one priority, and now more than ever the entire airport community is working hard to keep the airport clean. Here is what that means:
1. Cleaning of High Touchpoint Areas
Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have increased the frequency of cleaning in our terminal, specifically all high-traffic and high-touchpoint areas. This means that surfaces such as escalator rails, elevator buttons, ATMs and seating areas are cleaned more frequently.
2. New Cleaning Measures at TSA Screening
Across airports nationwide, including here at Bradley, the TSA has increased the frequency and intensity of cleaning and disinfecting of frequently touched surfaces and security screening equipment, including bins.
3. Cleaning Protocols at Ticket Counters, Gate Areas and Aircraft
From cleaning at the ticket counters to specialized equipment to disinfect aircraft, our airline partners are prioritizing cleanliness throughout your journey. For the latest information about what your airline is doing and other new COVID-19 related procedures, please visit your airline’s website.
4. More Cleaning at Restrooms
We have increased the frequency of cleaning and sanitization efforts in all of our restrooms. Also, our terminal restrooms have features to help you reduce touchpoints, such as fully enclosed stalls, sensor activated water-taps, sensor-activated soap dispensers and sensor-activated paper dispensers, as well as overhead lights to indicate stall availability, which eliminate the need to touch the doors and check if the stall is occupied.
5. Added Cleaning at Restaurants and Shops
Take-out options and certain shopping amenities continue to be available for our passengers, and we are working in partnership with our restaurants on the continued gradual reopening of sit-down dining options. All of our concession partners have modified their cleaning protocols. For the latest information about our concessions, visit our website: https://bradleyairport.com/enjoy/concessions/
