Security Screening Programs

Location Update: TSA Pre✓™ lanes have been relocated from the main security checkpoint, located in the lobby of the departures level, to the second TSA screening checkpoint, located between the United Airlines ticket counter and the hallway to the Sheraton Hotel. This screening location is dedicated for passengers enrolled in TSA Pre✓™ and those who have both TSA Pre✓™ and CLEAR.

Passengers who do not have TSA Pre✓™, are to continue using the general TSA screening lanes located at the main TSA screening checkpoint, which now have additional lanes for screening.

CLEAR will remain available at both security checkpoints.

The  TSA Pre✓™ is an expedited screening program that allows travelers to leave on their shoes, light outerwear and belt, keep their laptop in its case and their 3-1-1 compliant liquids/gels bag in a carry-on, in select screening lanes.

The TSA Pre✓™ application process allows U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents to go through a pre-enrollment process online at tsa.gov and visit an application center to provide biographic information (e.g. name, date of birth, address, etc.), fingerprints, payment and valid required identity and citizenship/immigration documentation. This program requires an application fee of $85 for a five-year membership.

Once approved, travelers will receive a Known Traveler Number and will have the opportunity to utilize TSA Pre✓™ lanes at security checkpoints at more than 150 participating airports and on 12 airlines. At Bradley, a TSA Pre✓™ lane is available at the main TSA screening checkpoint.

Bradley International Airport offers CLEAR expedited security screening. By utilizing biometrics to promptly verify their identity, CLEAR enables travelers to breeze through security. Members use CLEAR’s network of dedicated lanes to verify their identity with their eyes or fingers, replacing the need to take out their wallet and driver’s license. After verification, a CLEAR Ambassador escorts members through the dedicated lane and directly to TSA physical security, saving time waiting in line at the security checkpoint.

Enroll online here or in person at any CLEAR airport location. If you begin online, you’ll need to finish at the airport the next time you fly. Once you’ve enrolled in CLEAR Plus, you can use it right away. Simply head to security and look for the dedicated CLEAR Lanes.
