Bradley International Airport Honored with 2026 Spotlight Award

May 8, 2026

Bradley International Airport (BDL) is proud to be the recipient of the 2026 Spotlight Award by the Greater Springfield Convention and Visitors Bureau, which promotes the region as Explore Western Mass. This award recognizes organizations that have made a lasting and meaningful impact on the regional visitor economy.

The announcement was made as part of the annual Howdy Awards for Hospitality Excellence, which celebrates outstanding front-line hospitality professionals across Western Massachusetts. Each year, the program honors individuals who go above and beyond in delivering exceptional customer service, helping strengthen the region’s tourism and visitor experience.

Alongside those individual honors, the Spotlight Award is reserved for an organization that plays a transformative role in supporting tourism and hospitality. BDL was selected for its continued investment in connectivity, customer experience, and regional access.

In presenting the award, the Howdy Awards Committee recognized BDL’s role in connecting Western Massachusetts to destinations across the country and beyond. Expanded nonstop service has made travel more convenient for both residents and visitors, while international routes have strengthened global access for the region. Notably, direct flights to San Juan have enhanced connectivity for families and leisure travelers, while Aer Lingus service supports both professional and leisure travel.

BDL’s nonstop routes, infrastructure improvements, and enhancements to the overall passenger experience have helped position the airport as a key access point for the broader New England region.
