Business Partner Spotlight: Bombardier

The Canadian aerospace company is known for designing, building and maintaining its fleet of corporate and private jets. Bombardier’s extensive global network spans close to 100 locations throughout North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. One of those locations is on the property of Bradley International Airport (BDL) – in close proximity to the main terminal.

The Hartford Service Center at BDL is home to one of Bombardier’s most significant maintenance hubs for its Challenger and Global series of aircraft. The facility, which spans 140,000 square feet, provides aircraft inspections, repairs and technical support.

In May, Bombardier announced it’s launching a new FastTrack program in Connecticut, which offers an accelerated pathway for experienced aircraft maintenance technicians to earn their airframe and powerplant certification. The program is in partnership with CT Aero Tech located at Hartford-Brainard Airport – one of the CAA’s general aviation airports. It combines classroom and hands-on training to help qualified candidates advance their careers. It’s also designed to strengthen the aviation workforce in the region and support Bombardier’s growing operations.
