The Holiday Travel Season is Ready for Takeoff at Bradley International Airport
Thanksgiving kicks off the beginning of an anticipated busy holiday season at Bradley International Airport.
At Bradley International Airport, the extended travel period surrounding Thanksgiving spans from November 17 to November 26, with the CAA anticipating more than 90,000 passengers traveling out of the airport over the ten days. The busiest days will be the Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving and the Saturday and Sunday after Thanksgiving. For those considering last-minute travel, Thanksgiving Day and the Tuesday after the holiday are expected to be the least busy days.
“We are ready to kick off a busy holiday season at Bradley International Airport,” said Kevin A. Dillon, A.A.E., Executive Director of the CAA. “Our entire team is committed to assisting passengers on their journey to visit family and friends or take their vacation. As always, this Thanksgiving, we are grateful to our loyal passengers for choosing Bradley International Airport for their holiday travel.”
For travel out of Bradley International Airport, passengers are encouraged to follow these tips:
Confirm Your Flight
Before arriving at the airport, confirm your flight with your airline and check in for your flight online.
Arrive Early
With more individuals traveling during a condensed timeframe, the airport will be busy. Passengers are strongly encouraged to arrive at the ticket counter at least 90 minutes prior to their flight’s departure. The airport’s peak hours are typically 4:00 AM – 7:30 AM and 3:00 PM – 5:30 PM.
Know Your Parking Options
Passengers are reminded that the airport’s parking offering now has a new look and name, sPARK. There are several parking options within a short distance from the terminal and complimentary shuttle service is provided from the surface lots. Visit the airport’s website ahead of your arrival for the latest information on parking options and follow directional signage at the airport to guide you to open lots.
Pack Smart
Have your credentials ready and pack properly to help speed up your TSA screening process. Information on prohibited items and how to prepare for the screening can be found on the TSA’s website or by contacting the agency by phone or on social media.
Family and friends who are picking up passengers from Bradley International Airport during the Thanksgiving holiday week are encouraged to use the Cell Phone Waiting Lot located on Light Lane. This area allows those picking up to wait comfortably in their car until passengers arrive and retrieve any luggage. Parking in the Cell Phone Lot is free.
