CAA Welcomes New Board Chair Thomas A. (Tony) Sheridan, Congratulates Past-Chair Charles R. Gray for Service and Accomplishments

The CAA is proud to welcome Thomas A. (Tony) Sheridan as the organization’s newest Board member and newly appointed Board Chair. As the President and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut for the past 15 years, Tony brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and insight through his collaboration with the regional business community. Tony’s efforts will be critical as the CAA continues its mission to facilitate economic development and as work continues to promote utilization of Bradley amongst regional businesses.

As an Irish immigrant with a demonstrated history of promoting European tourism to Connecticut, Tony will also help build off the momentum of Bradley’s new nonstop service to Dublin and beyond via Aer Lingus. Tony’s past efforts include multiple international trade events that the Chamber has undertaken with the Department of Commerce and Office of Congressman Joe Courtney, including a recent trade mission to Ireland and the UK in support of the Bradley-Dublin route.

Tony has shown a commitment to the CAA mission even before his nomination as a board member, and we look forward to accomplishing great things for Bradley and our five general aviation airports together under his direction. Please join us in welcoming Tony to the CAA family.

We would also like to congratulate and thank Charles R. Gray, who has served as a Board member since the organization’s inception in 2011, and who has served as the Board Chair since September 2016. During Charles’ tenure as Chair, the CAA reestablished nonstop transatlantic service with the launch of Aer Lingus’ service to Dublin, and other major service launches have included United service to San Francisco, Spirit service to Myrtle Beach and various Floridian destinations, and the announcement of upcoming nonstop service to St. Louis. The CAA also undertook an aggressive terminal enhancements plan under Charles’ leadership, including establishment of a new airport lounge, new duty free shop, new Phillips Seafood and Two Roads Brewing Co. locations, construction of a new elevator bank, and various other improvements. The CAA thanks Charles for his time and dedication as a Board Member, and we wish him success as he focuses his talents on new challenges in the future.
