The Airline Now Offers Five Nonstop Destinations from Bradley

On June 15, 2017, Governor Dannel P. Malloy and the Connecticut Airport Authority (CAA) announced that Spirit Airlines, an ultra-low cost carrier, will expand its operations at Bradley International Airport, with the launch of nonstop, seasonal service to Fort Myers and Tampa. The expansion follows Spirit Airlines’ recent launch of direct service to Orlando, Myrtle Beach and Fort Lauderdale.

“Expanding flight options at Bradley International Airport is vital to Connecticut’s economic future. Each day more and more businesses and residents are turning to the airport as their first choice for air travel,” Governor Malloy said. “The addition of these new flights increases opportunities for people in the area to get to where they need to go.”

“We are excited to bring these two popular destinations to Bradley,” said Mark Kopczak, Spirit Airlines’ Vice President of Network Planning. “Spirit Airlines is committed to bringing more ultra-low fare options to Hartford, and offering more nonstop flights to more of Florida. Our service will allow more friends to reconnect and more families to go on vacation, saving money on airfare to spend it at their destination.”

Spirit Airlines currently operates nonstop flights from Bradley International Airport to Myrtle Beach and Orlando, which launched in late April. The nonstop flight to Fort Lauderdale launched on June 15^th. The Fort Myers and Tampa flights will launch on November 9, 2017, and they will be offered seasonally from November through April.

Dillon, A.A.E. “The addition of this service to Fort Myers and Tampa provides further evidence of the CAA’s focus on delivering the highest level of customer service and gives our passengers the opportunity to travel more conveniently.”

The flight to Fort Myers will depart at 4:40 PM, with a 7:05 PM arrival at Fort Myers Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW). The flight to Tampa will depart at 7:30 AM, with an arrival at 10:40 AM at Tampa International Airport (TPA). These times are subject to change.

All of Spirit’s operations at Bradley will utilize either a 145-seat Airbus A319 or a 182-seat Airbus A320 aircraft.
