COVID-19 TESTING AT BRADLEY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
As part of our commitment to enhance the safety and convenience for passengers, Bradley International Airport has partnered with Connecticut-based lab Genesys Diagnostics in the opening of a COVID-19 testing site at the airport.
In accordance with Connecticut’s Travel Order any passenger arriving in Connecticut from an impacted state is exempt from the 14-day quarantine period if the traveler receives a negative COVID-19 PCR test in the 72 hours prior to arriving in Connecticut or after arriving in Connecticut.
Testing is only available to passengers traveling through Bradley Airport on the day of their testing. Passengers must show a copy of their physical or mobile boarding pass demonstrating that they are departing from or arriving at the airport on the day of testing.
The testing site is located in the baggage claim area at Bradley International Airport, between vestibule doors 4 and 5 and across from bag belts #5 and #6.
Hours of Operation
Testing is available seven days per week between 11:30 AM – 12:30 AM, or as needed per airline scheduling.
Pre-registration (strongly encouraged!)
To minimize wait time and crowding near the site, passengers are strongly encouraged to pre-register before arriving at the testing site. Pre-registration is available on the Genesys website at www.gdilabs.com. Click on the “Register for COVID-19 Test” tab in the upper right corner of the website and select the “Bradley International Airport” option.
Passengers are encouraged to check their health insurance, as many insurers will cover costs associated with COVID-19 testing. If a passenger does not have health insurance, or if the test is not covered by the passenger’s insurer, tests are still available for $125 each.
Genesys Diagnostics is providing COVID-19 PCR testing via minimally invasive anterior nasal swab.
Test Result Notification
Results will most likely be available within 72 hours of testing. However, in some circumstances it may take 7 to 10 days to receive results, due to unforeseen circumstances such as high demand, supply limitations or laboratory processing delays. Bradley International Airport is not liable for any travel plans that may be impacted by an unexpected delay in returning laboratory results for travelers.
Department of Public Health Notification
In order to avoid or shorten the 14-day quarantine, passengers need to provide written proof of the negative test result to the Department of Health Commissioner via email at DPH.COVID-Travel@ct.gov or via facsimile to (860) 326-0529.
